Mac Marshal was developed by ATC-NY, a subsidiary of Architecture Technology Corporation, with feedback and assistance from its law enforcement partners, Inv. Ryan Kubasiak of the New York State Police Computer Forensic Laboratory and Mr. James Thompson of the Broome County (New York) CATS unit.

ATC-NY specializes in research and development in the areas of computer security and digital forensics.
